Road Map

Sometimes I am excited about where I am heading. Other days, I’m not so sure.
But in this wild unknown, I embrace my cartographer, my artist, my author—Jesus Christ.

Greater

There will always be political chaos, confusion, fear of the future, and grief at the world around us. Whatever it is, it is so easy to become overwhelmed. We don’t belong here.

But God is greater.

You Can’t Mess Up A Perfect Plan

I often think of God as an artist. He builds our mosaics, paints our stories every day. Each challenge or tribulation adds a dark piece to the mosaic, one black stroke to the painting. And each triumph adds lighter pieces, colorful strokes. But no matter how many dark pieces there are, God still creates a unique, beautiful masterpiece. He’s too good of an artist to mess up your story.

“I Forgive You.”

How much mercy can Christ give? Here’s a short story from a few months ago—all about the immeasurable grace that Jesus gives his children.

Be Still

In this crazy world we live in, it can be hard to find peace (especially in 2020, the year of total insanity). He are some thoughts I pulled from my journal about being still.

Reckless Love

Don’t be ashamed of the simplicity of your faith. There are things in the Bible that are complicated, but Christ’s love for us is not. It is a reckless, eternal, unconditional love that never stops—and no love is as simple and incredible as that.

Rough Drafts

YOU are called by the creator of the universe. YOU, a rough draft riddled with mistakes. But God makes no mistakes. And he made no mistake in calling you.

Goodbyes

To the class of 2020: I hope you know I will never forget you, as long as I can. It is the only consolation I can give to those who float in and out of my life like beautiful autumn leaves. To me, you are worth remembering, and that says something.
