We’re All a Little Lost

There are days, even as a child of God, that I feel very lost.

For the one feeling a little bit lost:

What I Learned From Never Making Varsity

I used to be embarrassed to admit I’ve been on JV all four years of high school.

But now I see what God’s plan was from the beginning. And I’m confident now: God makes beautiful things, even out of us.

Working for the Eternal Reward

Matthew 25:23 says, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

I want to live for the eternal reward like that. I want to reach heaven and hear my Father, best friend, lover, king, and God say well done.

Tethered

A lot of things are changing, and it can be scary. But Jesus’s love for you isn’t one of them. And this allows you to step into this next season fearlessly and confidently, because you are tethered to the unchanging love of your savior.

For the Overwhelmed:

I’m learning: even if I cause the greatest disappointment, God won’t stop loving me. I’m learning mistakes show how much I need Christ, not how much I need to fix. And I’m learning that Christ already fixed it for me.

The Freedom of Speech

Yes, the constitution grants freedom of speech. Yes, with a few exceptions, you can say whatever you want. But the constitution is not our ultimate authority. God’s word is.

Acquainted With Jesus

Sometimes, the times you are least ceremonious, the times you come to God ugly crying or confused or just feeling gross, you see God in a whole new light.

You become acquainted with how your imperfections can’t possibly wedge a single inch between you and Jesus.

What do You Want to be Remembered By?

I want people—my teachers, my coaches, my teammates and classmates, my friends and little siblings at LuHi this year—to remember me for being close to Jesus. Not for being a good writer, a good athlete or a good artist or whatever.

When they think of me, I want them to think of Jesus. That is my greatest goal.
