Hey family!
I know it’s been a while since I last posted – I’m sorry it’s been so dead over here at WithAbba! But I’m back and wanted to update you on a few recent developments – God has been tugging on my heart the last few months and I’m excited to share.
But before I dive head first – there are some new faces around here! So I wanted to introduce myself.
Hey! I’m Annabelle, 20 years old and wearing a lot of hats (I tend to do that lol).
I published my first fantasy novel when I was 17, which kicked off my writing career. Last year, I fell in love with the cutest firefighter (Nathan) and changed my last name to Yorke. We moved to CO Springs and have been married for 7 months now!
Just last week we bought a van and started converting it to our future home next year. We. are. stoked. We can’t wait to travel around Colorado full time.
I might be a writer by night, but I’m a content creator by day! I am the copywriter and videographer for the best business ever, Parker Baby Co.
Oh – and we love Jesus. He’s my best friend, my closest comfort, and the king of my heart, and He is the reason I get to share any of this crazy life! You can expect everything I share to be soaked in the gospel, no matter what the subject is.

So now that we’re acquainted – I want to share a little bit about how WithAbba will look different moving forward…
If you’ve been here a while, you know I’ve had my blog for years, and it’s always had to do with my relationship with God. That side of it won’t ever go away – but I felt God nudge me to share blogs on other topics too. Moving on, I’ll be sharing blogs in 4 categories:
- Faith (everything to do with a relationship with God)
- Fire Wife Life (Encouragement for first responder spouses)
- Van Life (Updates, tutorials, and stories about van life)
- Writing (Tips, tricks, and hacks I’ve picked up along my author journey)
You might be interested in one or two categories, but not the others – which is TOTALLY cool. Find what relates to you and stick with that! No hard feelings.
Here’s what you can expect about each “blog branch”:
Faith
This will continue on, business as usual! I’ll keep sharing the lessons God teaches me like I always have, touching on topics like marriage, singleness, how to build a relationship with God, and more.
Fire Wife Life
This one is new – and I wanted to keep it separate because this subject is so unique to first responder spouses. Not everyone can relate to the struggle, but we’re not alone.
I’m obviously still very new to this lifestyle, but I’m learning a lot. My hope is to share what has helped or encouraged me, so you can be encouraged too.
I also wanted to keep this subject separate so I can create a safe community for other first responder spouses to lift each other up. I’m hungry for support, and I know a lot of other spouses are too. I hope I can meet other wives going through similar struggles on my blog, so we can do this thing together!
Van Life
This van life thing is a recent development, but it is SO FUN. Honestly, I wanted to separate this content because it will look a lot different than my other stuff! Most of it will be van conversion progress updates, how we built and designed our van, and the various adventures we go on together once we move in. Hopefully we can make a YouTube channel soon 🤞
Writing
Writing has always been a massive part of my life, but I haven’t shared much about what I learned along the way, and I’ve learned a lot! From publishing, editing, and marketing my novel to the (at times painful) writing process, I hope I can encourage other writers on their journey with all the lessons I’ve learned.
Something Pique Your Interest? Don’t Miss Out!
Anyway – if any of these “branches” piqued your interest, make sure you don’t miss out! Subscribe at the bottom of this page to get my blogs delivered right to your inbox – and don’t worry, I won’t spam (haha gosh I hate spam). Usually I post once a week, but sometimes I miss a week because you know, life happens 🙂
Psalm 61:1 says, “I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
If you feel like you have a faint heart sometimes, you’re in good company. You are loved and cherished! Thanks for reading 🫶
